PD Music Therapy is a fun way to use music to promote wellness and connect with others. Taught by Dr. Jim Pierce, Assistant Professor of Music Therapy at Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, the class is FREE, thanks to an Arts and Health grant from University of Memphis

No music experience is necessary to join the Parkinson’s Disease Music Therapy groups. These highly interactive 30–45-minute sessions will utilize the power of music to promote wellness. Participants will have the opportunity to sing familiar songs, lead a drum circle, and explore new instruments. The groups are supportive, purposeful, and meaningful, designed to meet the needs of anyone dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. But most of all, the groups are fun, friendly, and free to all those that register.
